Unhappy Clutch mushy on cold mornings

Hi,
I have been noticing my clutch pedal and brake pedal to some extent are rather mushy on cold mornings. They don't stick, but pedal feels like I am pushing through jello... and return to normal position is slow.

My Xterra is still relatively new, 2004 with 2000 miles on it, would brake fluids get hard like this only at 10F ??

Thanks for any insights!

Louis

Re: Clutch mushy on cold mornings

Shouldn't have any moisture in the systems, especially if it's a 2004, but that would be my suspicion. Whatever it is, it's going to be a warranty fix, just take the thing in...

Re: Clutch mushy on cold mornings

I have an 04 X with 6k and when it got down to -15 up here in Minnesota a couple of weeks back it did the same thing. Mushy... I had a 96 f150 that did the same thing with the addition of not wanting to go into gear. Once my X warmed up the mushiness in the clutch went away. It’s as though the cold grease acts like a shock absorber. I have driven several different manuals in the cold and they all seem do have a similar behavior.
