88 Grand Marquis for sale
1988 Mercury Grand Marquis
210,000 miles (about) engine and tranny are perfect The body is in good shape, there are a couple of spots of surface rust now, but nothing major at all. The dottom of the doors, wheelwells, trunk and floor are solid. There is a newer leather "soft-top" on the car in great shape, no tears or rips. The interior is in good shape, no rips or tears that I have noticed there either. The car needs a new windshield, the new brakes put on (I have the brakes here), and the drivers side door handle needs to be fixed. (It doesn't open from the outside) I'm told that it came "unhooked" inside the door panel. I wanted to "Redo" this car, but money is tight and I already have 2 other cars to drive. This car does have the 5.0L V8 engine and already smokes just about everything it has been put up against. My wife and I live in Buffalo, NY and we used to drive it back and forth to Florida, so that's why there are such high miles on it. We would love to see this car go to either someone who will rebuild it or use it for parts to redo another vehicle. If you are interested, Please give us a call or email us. I'll bet someone tried to open door when it was frozen shut. The rod is simple to put back into place after removing door panel. Whoever does this should not forget to put a new lock/slip washer on top of rod or it will slip out again. Rod may need to be straightened out, depending how much pressure was put on it before it dislodged. Too bad I wasn't near your area. Sounds like a great project car. |

Thanks for the information on how to fix this! I think the windshield was the thing that was going to cost the most to get fixed. I forgot to mention, the car is a "Sandlewood" color (beige/light tan), but it does have a new header panel on it that it light blue. That's the only part that's a different color. We had to replace the panel a couple of years ago when it cracked from bumping something. Thanks Again! Aaron and Sarah |

How much does a car like that usually go for?

Re: 88 Grand Marquis for sale
My wife and I are looking for $200 for the Grand Marquis. We also have a 95 Chevy lumina, but the tranny is bad, so we will probably be bringing that to the junkyard for scrap on Wednesday. I would really like to see someone get the Grand Marquis instead of having to resort to the scrapyard for it though.

if you were closer to Northern Indiana I's take it off your hands, I let a few people know about it, you might get a hit from them

Re: 88 Grand Marquis for sale
We did end up getting rid of the lumina.
The Grand Marquis is still available though. |
