resetting error code

How do I reset my service engine soon light on my dasboard of my 01 Venture. I have heard that you can pull the fuse for the power module? I tried that today along with pulling several others but still have the service engine light on.

Re: resetting error code

After 1995 all cars had to comply with OBDII standard. This meant that in order to read an error code and clear error codes you need an OBDII reader. You can buy a basic model at a parts store for about $100 or if you live in USA I hear that some Auto Zone stores will read the code for free.

If you're getting a SES light, it means something is wrong, they don't just turn on for no reason. Take it to Autozone and have them scan the codes (they do this for free). They can point you in the right direction as to what is causing the problem. Is the van doing anything out of the ordinary, are there any symptoms?
I've had my SES light turn on for MAP sensor after replacing air filter. the sensor is flakey, but too expensive to replace so I just keep clearing the code once every 4 months or so when I see it.
