Angry leak in rear foot well

Someone knows why the rear floor wells have water in them after a rain.....The doors are not the problem....Is it possible the water comes from the vents in the recess under the windshield????Need to know where to start troubleshooting this problem and the cure......Thanks....Ralph

Hoist the car up and look at underside for rust thru & holes in floor - near foot well area or nearby as water will flow to lowest spot.

Floor panel rust thru is not have a much problems with in post 1980 cars. For FORD in the 70s, that is a different story.

Re: leak in rear foot well

Check all your door seals; if one is gone, water could be getting in that way.

Thanks........All the seals are fine........I noticed recently that there is water in the vent to the rear that carries heat and air there........Someone has suggested that leaves or such have gathered under the windshield area and have clogged the drain areas and caused water to fill up and flow to the heating and air vents...Thanks for the info...Ralph

I FINALLY got this fixed.........There is a seal right at the bottom of the windshield when the grid there is removed...........This had cracked and the water was entering the vent which carries air to the rear foot well and getting that well full of water when it rained real hard.......Replaced the seal Hope this helps someone
