S15 halfcut engine with 6 speed transmission, driveshaft and transmission assembly

Hi everyone,

I owned a 1997 S14 with SR20DET engine and a matic tranny, I also bought a Nissan S15 halfcut with engine, 6 speed transmission, driveshaft and transmission assembly.

As of today, Im still confused what to do with all these stuff because I only wish to change the matic tranny to manual including the helical differential installed in my S14.

Others told me to swap the engine of my s14 to s15 including the ECU harness, 6 speed tranny, driveshaft and differential assembly ( thats a whole lot of work ).

My idea was to stick to S14 engine and the auto ECU and swap the S15 6 speed tranny, driveshaft and differnetial assembly including the swap of S15 injectors and turbo to my S14. My question is, will my S14 auto ECU read the speed sensor of the s15 which is located in the differential ? will this work ?

I know theres a light modification on the transmission support and the sitting of the driveshaft, I think theres no problem with this modification on my part. I also have to install the brake and clutch pedal assembly of the manual to my automatic setup including the high pressure lines to slave but the halfcut is japanese which is right hand driven. What I know is that I have to cut and weld the position of the brake and clutch pedal assembly inorder to fit my left hand driven position.

Is there anybody who is kind enought to sell me a nissan 240 SX brake and pedal assembly including the high pressure lines ? I have been emailing to a lot of stores in the US concerning about the brake and clutch pedal assembly but no one cares. I hope there's somebody who can grant my wish.

What is the right way If you were in my shoes for my above concerns.

Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks

Re: S15 halfcut engine with 6 speed transmission, driveshaft and transmission assembly

i'd say stick to the s14 engine and tranny.. that would solve a lot of problems.. all you'd be getting with a 6 speed is over overdrive or somewhat.. there really isn't much advantage unless you're doing autox.. and auto ecus are different than manual ecus.. just looke at this and you'll see what i mean.. http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/s14_5speed_swap.htm
think about the neutral position sensor and all that.. i'm sure there are more important things to the ecu and i'm sure someone else will give you a more concrete answer..
