Short shifter
I just got a short shifter for my 98 audi and need to remove the center consule, does anyone have any suggestions for removel or ways to put the shifter in without removeing the consule

Thanks but thats not going to work, my car is a 98 so it doesnt have that nice little shifter assembly panel that just pops out, to open up the space I need to know how to take out the whole center consule

ok..gotcha.. i cut and pasted this from another post..
Rear part of console is easy. First remove the cover on the ebrake. do a search on that cuz its hard to explain. Remove the rear ashtray, there's 3 bolts there. Only remove the 2 bolts in there that bolt the console to the floor. Don't remove the center bolt. Then you have to move your front seats all the way back cuz there is a screw on each side of the console (just in front of the ebrake handle) where it joins the shifter area of the console. When the seats are moved back you'll see a small plastic clip/cover just like the foot panel ones with some screws under them. Also need to pop out the cupholder and remove a bolt there (same as the rear bolts) which holds the console to the floor. The foront console is easy once you remove the radio. Remove Radio. Undo bolts that secure the front dash trim. Find a bolt on the drivers side footwell (pretty far back) that is also behind a small plastic cover and remove that one.
