89 jimmy problems Please help!
I'm hew here to the forum and don't know much about fixing trucks so any help would be appreciated.
I just bought an 89 full size jimmy recently and just today it started clunking while driving and the gas seemed like it was having trouble getting to the engine. I have a dual exhaust and the mufflers were clanging and when I stopped anytime it felt like it was going to stall. I brought it home and now it won't start at all. Any suggestions on what it could be? Even if I don't fix it myself I would like to know what could be wrong so a mechanic doesn't try and scam me. |

Started clunking?
Have you checked the oil?

Re: 89 jimmy problems Please help!
well, i put a few quarts of oil in and ran it for a little while, but it still kept sputtering for a while. Since I have no dipstick at the moment, i have to guess it needed oil.

No dipstick for the engine oil?
That could be one thing. Smarten up and go to a junkyard and get one. I hope you plugged the tube and didn't just leave it open. So you don't even know how much oil is in there but you added some? I think you need a bite of reality here bro.
