Hello fellow van owner....I own a '90 safari van, had 102K miles when I purchased, now have 263K + miles. I have always bought K&N air filters for ALL of my cars. Immediate throttle response, as well as better mileage. increase in mileage is not extrordinary but is better. another imporvement that you may wish to check out is EDELBROCK IAS SHOCK ABSORBERS. your part #'s may be the same as mine (front-#3338/rear-#3438). they are high pressure gas shocks;come with red shock boots;every person I have offered this to who purchased them has agreed that "it feels like a totally different vehicle" by way of ride quality, cornering control, & come with a lifetime replacement warranty. they cost around $70 each, but are so superior to all other shocks that they are well worth the money.

"Excuse me for saying so", but I have been an advocate for K&N filters for over 10 years...& the 1 thing that I can verify to is that the gauze filter medium, combined with their red filter oil provides about 150% better dust & dirt filtering than a stock paper filter does. In addition, the dirtier a K7N filter gets(within reason, of course), the better it filters. & finally, the filter is warranteed for 1 million miles, & can be cleaned over & over again(reccommended up to 100K for normal driving & up to 50K for dirty driving).
Now what was that you were saying about K&N "passing too much dust"?
Additionally, simply by mounting the K&N filter on your vehicle you will immediately notice a surge of power when you step on the accelerator, as well as even possibly getting better gas mileage.
