I replaced the fuel pump in my 1998 jimmy, and now the gas guage doesn't work. It was fine before i had the replacement done...any suggestions on why this happened, and what i can do to fix the problem? Thanks, Donna

Re: gas gauage
I've got a 97, I know there's a plug above the tank but it's in a real tight spot. maybe the mechanic forgot to plug it in? then if that's ok then maybe a module found in the glove box. I had to have that replaced about 2 years ago, my feul gauge died as well.

Re: gas gauage
Sending unit probably wasn't grounded out properly or a connection is missing.

I just replaced my gas tank in my 93 Jimmy and the gas guage is out of whack. I think the float may be stuck on the new fuel screen I installed. I haven't taken it apart (again) to be positive, but I will let you know. |

Re: gas gauage
Could be, or the sending unit itself has gone bad.
