2001 Jimmy no start (but tries) good fuel pressure (60psi)

As stated in the subject line I have a 2001 Jimmy with the V6 (which one not sure cpi??) no throttle body injectors if that helps. I got off night shift and went to start truck. The engine turns over fine then it seems to jam (almost like the distributor is out 180) I had the mechanic come to the truck and he did a fuel pressure test (a O.K. at 60 p.s.i.) before this I had the similiar problem with the starting but I alway managed to get it going.

When it is cranking over and it hits the dead spot/jam all the gauges go dark the rear hatch pops and the clock resets. It tries starting sometimes but no luck.

Check cap and rotor (a little corroded) cleaned it a bit to try and get it going but no luck. I had an ignition switch go before and had it replaced (2 years ago)

Any ideas out there questions or comments

Me and our local mechanic are stumped, he is leaning toward the ignition switch and will do some more testing after I get the truck towed to his shop.

I love my GM and Pontiac vehicles NOT!! Don't even get me started on my 2000 Grand Am GT!!! Fuel pump, warp brakes, leaky sunroof (fixed) and still not running right!

Sounds like your starter motor has a dead short in it.

Replace the starter.
