Hey Privateer, I got'cha Nova's daddy right here.

You better hurry up and get that Nova sorted out 'cause my Chevelle just broke the track record and I'm still working out the bugs on the new setup. When I get the gearing right we'll touch'em off. It's a Buick Skylark I built in '71 like a real Chevelle I lettered for a local racer. You could get the Buicks then but not the '66 Chevelle. Now it's the other way round and I wish I hadn't cut the Buick since they later butchered it for the Modified Stocker series.

Against my little ol' 283?

396 Huh? I hoped it wouldn't come to this but it looks like the gloves are off. Tiger Tom Pistone said my Mustang is almost finished and I just put in a call to my buddies Larry Wallace and Tommy Turner at Holman Moody and they said my 427 side oiler high riser would be finished by the end of the week. It's shaping up to be a pretty bleak Christmas for the "bowtied brigade" around here. LOL

WSOC is one of the local news stations 'round here, do you have any more history on that car?

It would be just as described. Built by Tom Pistone, driven by Larry Wallace and run at the old Concord Speedway behind the trailer park in the mid-seventies. See you're from Gastonia, do you know my old friend Harold Dunnaway? I wouldn't be surprised if the Mustang wasn't run at Carolina too. Larry and Tom are friends of mine from back in the day when I build models for the local racers in North and South Carolina. I can't remember who got the first one I built with the complete stock body but it may have been Tom. The one in the pic was what it looked like between that one and the Channel 3 Sports Special that Stick Elliot drove. I called Lancaster and Starlite Speedways home but I made the trip to Concord every so often just to keep in touch before I got my cameras and became the track photographer at Lancaster and Chester Speedways.
