HI, I am having a heck of a time with this 1990 Dodge Caravan 3.3. I have replaced fuel injectors due to code 26. It seems to want to start, but hesitates. I can hear the fuel pump kick on and I wait 3-4 seconds..voila it starts, then bogs then shuts off. I have had the fuel rail off several times, checked to see if any of the injectors are leaking. It doesnt seem likely. Could it still be a fuel injector? The fuel pump kicks on when I turn the key the first 2 times then it doesnt for several keys, then it kicks on again. It the fuel pump supposed to kick on everytime??? Help I am so frustrated I would like to junk the car, but I love my van. I need some tips hints or a general; direction on what to look for. Please help.
Thanks so very much!!!! |

Re: Car not starting
Hmm sounds like a bad fuel pump to me...I think these pumps are supposed to come on and stay on...check it and see if your getting good pressure with a guage or take the line loose and see if she sprays out(depending on pump p.s.i.) I would put money on the pump...someone else will have to tell you where the pump is because on these I don't know. Good luck and your injectors are knew did you bleed the lines by chance?

Thanks this is my next step now. I did a quick check on the injectoer, because the were used (cheaper) and none seemed to be leaking. Hopefully a fuel pump wont cost me too much. I'll let you know. |
