hey guys have a question here... I have a 2000 VW jetta with a mismatched lug lock key... does anyone know a good method to removing one of these keys... I'm thinking that one of those gator grip universal sockets might work... does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: VW lug lock
Go to a tire shop & ask if they have a universal wheel lock removal set, basically it's just a tapered round set of sockets you drive over the lock nut & use an impact gun to remove. If they don't know what you're talking about move on to another shop.

Re: VW lug lock
no local shop had the universal key available... with the exception of the dealer that gave me the wrong ky in the first place... then wanted $75 to remove... $75 for something that was their own fault... Dave Walter VW in Akron Ohio is a crock! has a lousey service department... anyway... I ended up drilling out the cores of the studs and the taking a reverse drill bit to it... after several hours of drilling... they can out no problem...

Re: VW lug lock
It's not a key its a special socket set. Here's some typical ones on eBay. It's amazing that any tire shops don't know they exist.
