Engine removal 1999 Trooper
I need to rebuild lower end of 1999 trooper 3.5 DOHC V6 (bad connecting rod). Online manual says that transmission has to be removed BEFORE engine can be pulled. I have pulled many engines w/o removing tranny Anything different about the 3.5 V6, or will the motot come out with tranny still in place?
Thanks, Dirt Doctor |

I am thinking they may mean you have to LOOSEN the tranny and remove it and the engine at the same time. Just my guess as I haven't had to drop either from my 99 Trooper.
I assume you know about the oil consumption problem in this vintage of Trooper and will be rebuilding with the appropriate rings/pistons. |
