P0113,P0400,'96 Metro

I have a '96 Metro 1.3L auto. and keep getting P0113, and P0400 codes.
IAT high input and EGR low flow.
Is this a common problem with the 96 Metro's?
Will ignition timing effect the sensor inputs?
