Question Stereo Dilemma

Alright i have a 94 Eclipse GS N/T 1.8 and i would really like to get some bump in my ride but im a little ify because right now all i have is a 52x4 sony xplode deck and when i turn the bass up to 6 out of 10 and have the volume somewhat loud the radio will shut off. right after i installed the stereo i had to get my alternator rebuilt not sure if thats a coincidence or what but the reason im ify is if i buy a couple of subs and an amp and then i blow the alternator or something.

I wanted to know if any one has had power problems with there stereos in their 1g's and does a sub and amp drain alot more power than just like a stock set up.

Re: Stereo Dilemma

Does this happen when the car is on or off? Because if it is happening when it is off then thats no big deal. I have 2 bazooka 10's and a 750w bazooka amp and my stereo cuts off if i turn it up to high and the engine isnt running also. I dont think thats very uncommon. your car has to be running for the alternator to work... but you probably knew that.

Re: Stereo Dilemma

Re: Stereo Dilemma

do you have your head unit run through the stock wiring or an aftermarket wiring kit?
