Paint Price

I have no car for now, but i'm planing the cost of everything i'm going to do when i'll get it.
i'm getting a 3000gt 1995. i'm not sure if i'll like the color on it.
I need to know how much cost to re-paint the hole frame with the spoiler and the side skirts in RED or BLUE.

thx

Re: Paint Price

It will cost a few thousand dollars for a good paint job on the body. I do believe the car is a Unibody, so to paint the "frame" you will need to gut it, and then put it on a rotissery. All in all, if you want the frame painted as well, you will spend 10-15grand USD.

No, I am not kidding you. Paint costs money, the good quality of labor costs money, the proper steps to painting it costs money, preparing the body costs money. Thats about 4-5k there.

Then if you want the underside painted, you have to gut everything, mask it all, put it on a rotissery. Then prepare the underside of the body.

If you want a cheap, body job, go to Maaco Flakeo and get one of their ambassador services. They dont use primer, they dont properly prepare the surface, they dont color sand, the paint doesnt properly adhere, they rarely apply clearcoat and when they do it sucks, they have fish eyes, and their paint will flake off.

$300 every few months to get the car repainted because it flakes. Or 5k to have it there for life.
