'90 2.8TD Timing belt light

I had the belt replaced this time last year and have put about 20K Km on it since. Today, just as it reached exactly 190,000 on the clock, the belt light came on. It's still running! Whats the likely cause? I suspect that either the idler has failed or that there is some form of mileage detect for maintenance purposes. If so how do you reset it?. Any advice appreciated

hi The light comes on automatically at 60,000 mile intervals . Afraid you'll have to take the clocks out. On the back there's a gold phillips head screw remove it and screw it in the hole directly above or below it . Sometimes a sticker covers the hole u need to screw into .
hope this helps........
