Question 1991 Inegra Won't Start

My Daughter's 1991 Integra starts on dry mornings, but seems to not start on damp or rainy mornings. Any ideas? Tune up?

Thank you,

Cordell

if your car doesnt start, id always check to see how clean the battery terminals are. if they have a lot of deposits on them from battery acid, you may not be getting a good solid electrical connection. to clean them off disconnect both cables (negative first! so u dont slip and touch something metal with ur tool and have a 4th of july celebration under ur hood), then sprinkle some baking soda on the terminals and use and old tooth brush dipped in water to scrub them clean. then connect the cables again (positive first).

So you are saying that deposits go away on dry days and comeback on damp or wet days.(sumone's an idiot) , no but if thats not the problem I would check your coil, plugs, most of the electrical spark system. there probably is a bad seal on something. Usually a tune up will fix this if you cant specifically find the exact problem

ok ok manny was right. i did a search, it makes sense. when moisture collects on the plug wires or distributor, the electrical energy can find an alternate route (ie not to the spark plugs).
this is for a chevy cavalier, but had the same problem

PS: dont let manny touch you, you might catch gay.

ask your daughter if she drives the car in puddles at full speeds with friends in her car and then the next morning wonder why it wont start...
have u noticed the interior of the car being wet as well? maybe she "accidently" drove into a lake or something... stuff like this happens with females.... not that im saying that your doughter did that, or is a horrible driver... just saying nothing is impossible with female drivers...

another thing you can do it this... on the morning when the car doesnt start she will come running to you and say "daddy car wont start again" then you go run to the garage ( i assume you have one) then you can grab a timing gun...(i assume you have one) then you hook it up to the battery and to cylinder one and then ask your daughter to turn the car over (i assume it turns over, or it doesnt turn over at all??) then while shes turning it over you can see if the gun is flashing so you know that cylinder one is getting electocity... then you do the same to cylinder 2-4...

now if its not turning over at all then you might get a voltage reader and will have to see if the starter is getting the voltage. Dew might be the problem in the morning, and at nights.

first clean the terminals, go to Autozone or something and pick up a terminal cleaner, or do what i do, i just grab a piece of nice sandpaper and just get it all nice and clean... and if you dont got a piece of sandpaper use a nice to scrape all around it or a file, but dont file the terminal down haha... clean the termimans first, dew might be getting on the dirty terminals and making them worse...

let us know if you fogure it out..
