Door Locks Question

I'm just curious if anyone here know this answer off the top of their heads, if not I'll go to Honda.

Info - But I got my car a little over a year ago, it was a trade in at a dealership my friend works at. But as soon as I got it I checked to make sure that all the key holes (hatch, drivers door, passenger door) worked with the one key I got. My previous car was a '90 Olds (yeah I know it's a POS), and had 1 key for the ignition and one for all the doors and trunk. But I realized that my key doesn't unlock my passenger side door. I have no problem locking and unlocking it from the inside, the key fits in but doesn't turn. I know when the car was at the dealership that someone "broke into" it and stole the head unit that was in there. It's very possible that the doors were left unlocked however. But I also thought maybe the previous owner changed the lock for some reason (maybe it got damaged or someone drilled it to break in).

Question - So I'm curious if I could just go to Honda and see if they could make a me a key for it, or if I could buy a new lock that will work with the key I have now? Clearly getting a new lock would most likely be the option available if either are. It's just a pain in the ass when I pick up or go somewhere with a girl and can't even be a gentleman and open the door for her. Any ideas, thoughts, comments are much appreciated.

Re: Door Locks Question

sounds like the lock is broke. I'd take the door panel off and take a look at things before taking it to the dealer to get new locks. Might be an easy fix.

true true. Damn wish I would have gotten around to doing this a few months ago when it wasn't cold as hell and snowing on and off. Oh well that's what I get for putting things off to the last second.

Re: Door Locks Question

i lost my keys for my si. i went to the dealership to make new originals. my new originals will not open the trunk without jiggling it with force. my old ones did. i eventually found my old ones, no problems with the trunk.

Re: Door Locks Question

damn, i hope i never lose my keys. They are the ones with a fucking chip in them that sends some signal to some shit in steering column or something like that. Replacements are $100 per key.

I installed power locks. Makes it eaiser to open the door for your lady. That is pretty much the only reason I installed them.
