Question (1999 GJ Laredo)Positive & Negative electrode on parking/side marker lights

I've installed after market lights on my 1999 GJ Laredo and the instructions states that I connect the black wire to the negative electrode of the park/signal/side marker lamp; and the the red wire to the positive electrode of the park/signal/side marker lamp. The factoy positive and negative electrode (wires) are not the standard colors of black and red. How do I identify the positve and negative electrodes? Thanks in advance for any help that will be provided.

Use a test light or DVOM. Ground one end of the test light to a good ground turn on lights and check the wires the one that lights up is the positive the other is the neg.
