Re: 05 Mustang GT versus 350Z.

The GT is a pretty good package for the money. I'd love to see a lightened model with the Cobra suspension. Call it the 'Club Sport' or something.

The 350Z will probably lap better than the GT, but I personally don't go to the track. As much as I love the Z, the GT would probably be the better daily driver for me(four seats).

I'm betting the 'Stang and the 350Z are right about on top of each other when you put them on a road course.

The new 3 link rear suspension in the Mustang is wonderful solution to the old Fox/SN95 platform's binding problem. Thanks to a good pitman arm and trailing arm setup, the rear end tracks well without the unfortunate snap oversteer traits of the older Mustangs.

The front suspension is better, but it's still miles away from a quality unequal length A-arm or double wishbone setup. You'll still have mule-ish understeer from this pony, but at least it's going to be catchable and better behaved.

The 350Z's handling is very loose at the absolute limit. It's most obvious characteristic is a tendency to over-rotate coming off the corner. I've seen more 350Z's ending up in spins coming out of corners than I have sliding off into the runoff going in. They're nimble, but they can be a handful.

Basically, the two cancel each other out in handling downfalls and become equals. So long as the Mustang doesn't get a chance to stretch its legs, the cars are equals on a road course.

Re: 05 Mustang GT versus 350Z.

I wrote a 2 page review on the 05 Mustang GT for my cousin Chris to read, he's getting one and he wanted to hear my thoughts on them... However, i think the reviews on here accurately describe the pro's and con's of each and one more review would be overkill. So i'll just say i'm going with the Mustang(not Fuckstang) on this one.
