1988 gt high miles????

ok i need some advice from anyone out there...have a chance to buy a 1988 celica gt..every thing looks mint except the motor has 280000km on it...(178,000 miles)....will this car give me trouble down the road or are these tough motors?what should i do about the high millage? is it worth 900$?
ideas?comments? anyone please!

The average driver does about 12,000 miles per year so 178000 miles isnt too bad on a car that should have done 192000 miles. Jap cars are pretty bullet proof so i wouldnt expect anything beyond the normal wear & tear for a car that age. For me $900 isnt too bad, depends on the condition of the bodywork, usually a good indication of how the car has been looked after in general.
