Talking 78 rear rotors won't come off

78 with 36K and lots of garage rot! I can't seem to get the rear rotors off and the e-brakes appear to be trashed. I loosened the e-brake shoes all the way but the rotors won't budge. Any suggestions?

I don't see anything holding the rotors on. Do I need to hammer these off or what? Are the five rivets supposed to be drilled out and are the dime sized things between the studs actually rivets?????

Rotors are off and factory rivets had to be drilled out. E-brake pads look good but all of the springs and parts just fell out on the ground. Does anyone know if you are supposed to reassemble the brakes with axle still in place. Not much room to work! What's the trick?

Re: 78 rear rotors won't come off

take a hammer and tap them, go around them in a circle, yo u may spray some wd-40 around the back of the rotor/axle cap, id say the rust and corrosion has them bonded together. i just done an
Iroc-z's rearend over the weekend and i had this problem. just keep taping them and they will eventually come off.

78' Rotors removed now what?

Thanks-I got them off they were still riveted on! The e-brake parts just fell out of the drum. Do I need to remove the outer axle to put the e-brake parts back together? Anyone!
