Automatic lights

I have noticed that sometimes when I open the trunk, the light will turn off in a minute or two. I know there is a battery saver and it will turn off the lights if they are left on. I don't think that is supposed to kick in untill after the lights have been left on for more than 10 minutes. In my case the lights turn off immediately. If I hit the button on my remote the lights come back on and stay on like they are supposed to. I have also noticed that also the headlights are supposed to stay on for 20 seconds after you turn off the car but mine don't all the time. Sometimes they turn off as soon as I turn the ignition off. The headlight switch is set to AUTO like it should be. Is there a central processor for the lights? No idea where to look or what to check.

Check near that auto switch. I dont have the auto option in my malibu. But in my moms taurus sho under the auto light setting is a dail and it adjusts howlong the lights remiain on after the cars off, or if the auto switch is a dial you spin, turn it closest to off might reduce the time the lights stay on. Hope it helps a little

Thanks for the reply, I know what you are talking about but the Malibu doesn't have this adjustment.
