Buick roadmaster

I am now having a problem with my Roadmaster, a while ago i changed a headgasket in it, i was having a lil problems with the timing, but i finally worked it out. Meantime i had it a lil rigs up, not having everything looking pretty/bolted down, well now that i have everything bolted down it is backfiring thru the carburator throwing a big ball of smoke...have any suggestions on what i should do?

Thanks
Trent Hamilton
