'92 G.M. Rear Differential Size? 8.8" Perhaps?
How would I find out what size my differential is? ...If that's even the correctly terminology... I was looking into putting a positraction diff on my '92, and before I start to consider just what type to put on, I need to know what's available to me, and to find out, I need to know what size it is. I was told to go out & look for numbers on tags on the diff, and I found one tag, secured by a bolt in the diff coverplate. It's as follows, the "_" are there to preserve relative spacings, they weren't on the tag.
_C002A 08_88_2A02 The "C" may have been a "0" but were I to put money on it, I would say it's a "C". |

I'd take it to a reputable rear end shop, let them find out what the size is. The dealer may also be able to tell you what size it's supposed to be. ("Supposed" since it may have parts from another model year, but that's another thread)
