Headlights stay On

Hi I just picked up a 93 Park Ave.The headlights stay on after I turn off the car even with the sentinal off.I've read about this sentinal amplifier possibly causing this problem.? Can anyone tell me exactly where it is ? Thanks, Tom

Re: Headlights stay On

happened once to my 97' park av, but after i turned off the engine, not only the lights, but also the ventilation system would stay on...turned out that it was from the ignition, it wasn't turning off completely even though the engine stopped running...had to go 2 days only by unhooking the battery..it wasn't expensive to fix, an hour labour at GM. 114CAD$

Re: Re: Headlights stay On

With my PA it's just the headlights and I'm leaning more towards the sentinel problem. Mostly because if i pull the headlight breaker it of course shuts the headlights off.Thank you for responding I won't rule out the ignition as of yet however.I just hate to have to go to the dealer. It's always $$$$ Thanks, Tom

it could be a bad switch or ECM issue, reset the ECM by unplugging the battery and letting or sit for 30 mins and see if it still perists. I would bet on a bad switch.

E--engine
C--control
M--module

ECM has no effect on body systems such as lighting. In a 93 Lesabre the ecm only controlled trans and engine managment issues. Please don't condemn an ECM for something it doesn't control.

Re: Headlights stay On

Thanks for the latest response.I'll try the battery trick first and see what happens.I'm skeptical about the twighlight sentinal amplifier because even with the twilight sentinel off it still does it.Thanks again.
Oh let me ask a dumb question also. The switch is right where you press it....at the switch yes ? Thanks again, Tom

Re: Headlights stay On

I Have My Parking Lights Staying On, Almost In The Same Manner. Does Anyone Know Where The Relay Switch For The Lights Are?

He's Back everyone... If an ECM has a short it will send current to other systems. Nuff Said..
