Turn signal problem - 96 JGC

Hey guys,

This just started happening recently too.. Ive got a 96 grand cherokee, When i turn my turn signal on, in either direction, sometimes (but rarely) it works ok, but usually the indicator light just turns on and stays on, until i am about half way thru my turn, it will start flashing again... I didnt think it was the flasher unit, but replaced it anyway, needless to say didnt help... so sounds like a something wrong in the steering column.. what do you guys think? is this an easy fix or should i take it to the dealer or shop?? thanks!

Check the bulbs and the connections where they connect. Look for corrosion esp the front one. Turn the turn signal on and see if both bulbs light up. Do First!
