Yeah - the link to private messages is right on the line displaying your current path on the site.

As for posting pics, its well explained in the FAQ on the top right of the page.

Click on 'Gallery', then sign in, then click on 'upload pics'
Upload the picture into your personal gallery.
Then go to your personal gallery, click on the picture.
It will show you an enlarged version of the picture, and under it will be a tag with the picture's location.
Example: <img>blahblahblah</img>
Copy paste that entire tag into your post, and the picture will show up.
