Question 2000 Blazer, where is the oil plug underneath?

Thought I would change the oil but for once in my lifetime (which is long) I can't find the plug underneath to drain it..........looked in the manuals that came with it but nothing...........If anyone can tell me I would sure like to know.

Thankyou,

Saunny

The pan is centered under the motor and the plug is at the back of the pan.
I suggest you buy a Haynes repair manual, at most auto stores for about $20.00

Re: 2000 Blazer, where is the oil plug underneath?

Thankyou very much, I could not believe that 3 men in our age bracket could not find the plug, but we couldn't...........I do believe a manual is necessary if I try anything again, usually have it changed but wife on the road alot with her work and missed getting my man before he took off for the month.

Again Thankyou,

Saunny

Re: 2000 Blazer, where is the oil plug underneath?

Well this was really different, another fellow looked for the oil plug and couldn't find it????Finally I took it in where I normally get the oil changed and we looked in wrong place all along. It is a small plug on the left side of the pan, not near as big as most I have ever seen......I did have a farm and kept all the tractors from Hollands to John Deeres running myself most of the time, plus I could change the oil on our Cadillac and the Chev PU I have. This Blazer mistified me, but I did go today and get a Haynes Manual too as I would like to fix some of the small things myself when I have to do it.

I can honestly say I would never have thought to look where it is at, let alone believe it was the plug for the release of the oil, it looks too small. But it sure was for future reference to anyone who may have had this experience.

This Blazer and I are going to have some fun now,lol.....
