Jerking and Whining - Please help

I have a 2000 Pontiac Montana and for the past few months every time I drive it I can feel it shift hard into the next gear. I feels like it is lugging or jerking into gear. I also makes a whining sound. I hope it is not the transmission. I just had the transmission fluid changed but that didn't seem to help. When I get out of the van the engine seems hotter than normal. You can feel the heat radiating from it.

I have had some electrical propels with it as well. The CD player and clock digital display is out. Also the airbag light and brake light stay on.

Please help

Re: Jerking and Whining - Please help

The electonic parts in the tranny are bad. My 99 had the same problem at 40,000 mi. GM won't help I don't think they like people.

If it was just jerking then I would say it might be just the PC solenoid........but it sounds to me like the tranny is toast, most likely broken bands.Whining is never a good thing I am afraid unless you have a 400 HP muscle car with a stall converter
