1992 with ASR problem
I turned the ASR off while moving. Did that scre it up. Later when I tried to start the car, it would start and them imediately die. The service the ASR light came on. I ran the battery down trying to start it with ASR both on and off. Had the vehicle towed home, charged it and then it started the next day. I tried it 2 hours later and the car continued its start and die routine. Unplugged ASR and that did not help. I think the timing portion of the ASR is affecting starting. I am amazed how quicly the battery wears down when trying to start car with these circunstances. Help, I cn not bring myself to get a raking at a corvette dealership. I try to do all the work on my own cars. The manuals I have say very little about ASR problems, they just describe the 3 components of the ASR being braking, pushing back on the accelatertor and putting the timing off.

Re: 1992 with ASR problem
Tough one, well, if you cant bring yourself to have the dealership do the repair work, i suggest at least seeing if they can give you printouts of the system you are looking to work on, they probly wont, but its worth a shot. Youd be looking for the wiring diagrams, and system description. You could even just ask to talk to the resident corvette specialist, and ask if there is any simple fix that he knows of, or if he has seen this happen before. Im not to familiar with this system so im afraid i cant give you anything more constructive.
