Alpine Type X Amp

Hey, my bro just ordered the Alpine Type X 12" sub. He used to have a mtx6500d amp, and liked it. But it only put out around ~600 wrms, and the specs say the type X can handle 1,000wrms. So he needs an amp for it, that puts out close to 1,000wrms. Unless you guys think the sub cannot handle it. It'll be in a sealed enclosure, not sure what size yet. Cheaper the better...thanks!

Re: Alpine Type X Amp

id say since youre lookign for a good deal you can check out hifonics brutus amps on ebay theyre like 200 i think before shipping .. but they put out about 1000 watts at 1 ohm (im pretty sure the type Xs are dual 4 ohm right?).. and im gonna guess somebody heres gonna suggest an elemental designs nine.1 but they put out 1200 watts so you would have to watch how much power you give the sub... its about $120 more but the money might be worth it. you might also hear a jbl 1200.. i havent known anybody with one but theyre supposed to be pretty good too and a good value. (probably about 300?) again 1200 watts at one ohm
