What all am i gonna need to get this swap in correctly and smokin some neons and cavaliers with autozone spoilers and cherry bomb exhausts lol? I kno im gettin the full engine from a 97 teg ls..its my buddies and its now totalled. Im gonna try to get the tranny outta it but what all else should be pulled from it so i wont have to pay for it later? Im so excited, i kno itll take me a while to get this baby done with but im gonna take my time and do it right. Also i bought some new 04 civic si wheels so im stoked to get em on. I was pissed last week cuz when i came back from college i saw that someone had tried to break into my baby durin the two weeks i had been gone but the dumbass dented my door around the door handle because they tried to use a screwdriver to pry off the handle?!?!? wtf does that? im thinkin it was some punk high school kid who new i had some stuff in there. It made me even madder cuz i just had that side fixed from dents and stuff durin the summer
......just think of my new engine and wheels......yummy yummy

Re: directions not included lol

Here is what you can get out of the donor car.
Engine/tranny combo and anything attached, p/s pump, alternator, starter, ac compressor, ecu, axles, header, wiring harness, thats about it.

To make it work in you car you need mounts, and shiftlinkage and some good wiring instructions.

No offence but what are you guys talking about with using the tranny? Maybe I misread it and you were saying for him to get a tranny, but the '97 LS hydraulic tranny isn't going to work on his car. He'll need a cable b-series tranny. And he'll have to wire it from OBD-2 to OBD-0 or OBD-1 (in that case would need a OBD-1 ECU).

Re: directions not included lol

how'd he do it, I didn't think hasport or anyone made a kit to do that? Was it custom?

EDIT: Oops ok I guess hasport does make a kit for that. I never saw that on their site before...strange.

Yeah they make a kit, plus if you snatch all the hydrolic stuff off of it and your good at adapting stuff you dont need a kit.

Re: directions not included lol

hasports does make a hydro tranny adapter for our cars. take everything in the engine bay and the ecu. convert your car to obd1, sell the ecu and get a obd1 ls ecu.

Grab all the brakes too, 4 wheel disc with larger front rotors, e-brake cables, brake booster master cylinder prop valve if it's not ABS all that will work, You'll wanna stop as good as it goes

Re: directions not included lol

no the wheels that i got are 4 lug wheels. they actually look pretty good, but the Si wheels that came on my car look like shit so everything is lookin good compared to em. Ok so is hydraulic tranny better than the cable..ill prolly grab that hydraulic one cuz im gonna have to switch from OBD-2 to what i need anyways. Have any of you guys done this in your rex? Cuz i just wanna make sure im gettin all the parts i need before the car goes to the junkyard. I was thinkin bout upgradin my brakes with the ones on that teg but if i dont ill grab em for someone so i can sell em.

Re: directions not included lol

Just get a pr4 obd0 ecu it'll work fine trust me.

Your gonna need mounts you can get hydro mounts it'll probably be cheaper than finding a good cable tranny. and your gonna have to modify or buy a shift linkage.

obd0 would be simple and cheaper
