Re: Radio Antenna wouldn't go up...

I dunno about the Type R specifically, but usually with any car, you have to make sure you get the signal wire for the power antenna connected to the new stereo deck. I used to work at Circuit City in the car audio, so I've seen this a few times. If this is indeed the case, then get a harness from your local circuit city, or best buy, and they should have one that will plug directly into your factory harness, and then go to a universal harness, and then one to go from the universal harness to the back of whatever deck you have.

Re: Radio Antenna wouldn't go up...

consider yourself lucky... i hate that long goofy ass antenna!
but try reseting the ecu (pull the ground cable from the battery for 15 sec and connect it again) this helps if you replace any fuse.

Its the antenna assembly. They can be had for fairly cheap, and are universal for all integras.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=46093

Check that out.

If you try out what pepsihatman suggested, and it still doesn't work. Then its highly likely that its the mast.

Try the antenna power wire if you changed your stock out you might have miss hooked the wire up to the antenna i did the same thing in my g/f's 95 ls..You might have hooked it up but it might not be the right power connection you need..

Thumbs up Power antenna tip

A quick tip, for once you get it working... lubricate the mast periodically with silicone spray at each section end as you cycle it up and down. Do it 4 times a year and it will keep working smoothly for years.

Re: Radio Antenna wouldn't go up...

lube it up and you'll have to force it down gently. you might have to work with it a couple times but it should be fine after that

Re: Radio Antenna wouldn't go up...

yea, if you cant get it up, put some lube on it and try to work it up and down gently, maybe have your girlfriend help you by pressing your buttons while you try to get it going. If that doesnt work then you may have what is called a.d. which is antennile disfunction. Lets hope it aint that.
