Woot! Tad got his first race finally!

Finally after months of being on hte look out for a race I got one! I had just about given up hope seeing as though the drive back to school after thanksgiving break would be the last time I would drive my car for any distance before the final sale. I was 30 miles outside of syracuse when I saw a civic being driven very agresively. I got up beside him and looked over. The dude driving it looked like a total ricer, backwards multicolored baseball hat, arm real high up on the wheel, the works. Funny thing was his car looked brand new and wasnt riced out at all besides the glow gauges. We made eye contact he laughed a little, and lined up. I waited since I wanted him to start it but he didn't after some time, I downshifted into 3rd going about 65 and punched it. He gunned it also but only stayed with me for about .25 seconds when I began to pull away much much quicker than I had thought I would seeing as though I thought he was probably stock. I went a bit further than I think I should have because I was a bit excited. There was some traffic so he got behind me and stayed there for about 25 miles because there was no room to go again. Finally there was some space to race once more just for fun, so he got beside me and I waited again but he didn't want to start it this time either so I just went from 4th this time at about 70-75. I don't think he was ready since he didn't stay with me at all this time. There were a few cars up ahead and I saw my exit so I signaled and started to turn off, he flashed his blinkers dispelling any fears that he wasn't actually racing me (which at the time was a reality because of how bad I had beaten him). I was realy dissapointed that it wasn't a fair race and would have loved some real competition but it was nice to win my first time out.

Yea I had promised myself I wouldent since it was raining hard when I left but the roads were dry by the time it happened. And yea I've had that problem forever, no one wants to race, even the few riced out cars I happen upon.

Some people are all show, its understandable I guess, they just don't like to race when they think they'll loose. I'd like to loose now, just to give me a kick in the pants to get that VR4 I want!

It's weird some of you guys can't find races. Around here, any sports car, rice car, truck, SUV, and soccer mom driving a minivan wants to run my VR4. It gets annoying sometimes.

Funny thing is there are drag tracks in Massachusetts that I know of, I think they're illegal because of the way the street racing law is written. There is at least one track though but since you don't race against another person its ok. There are a few guys on 3SI from my town who are real nice, I'll ask them where the local rice is at.
