Squealing Brakes On 2004 Dodge Trucks
I just bought a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 several months ago and I have about 3000 miles and my brakes are squealing. Dealership has replaced brake pads on rear and resurfaced rotors but it is still doing it. Anyone else having problems. And if so what did you do?

Squealing brakes
I have a 2001 Durango and have been fighting for months with a similar problem but only after having a new brake job, not from dealer. Have had so many visits back that I can't even remember what all they have done which is why I am on the internet looking for my own answers. I have another appt. on Monday and by then will have a printout of all they have done. Will keep you posted.

I had the same problem with my 98 Ram as did my buddy with his 2004. We both had the front pads replaced with Bendix brake pads and the noise stopped. These pads cost a little more but if you get them at a tire store then you should get a life time warranty with them.
Good luck!!!! |

the new composite pads will squeel as soon as they encounter any heat, and then will continue to squeel indefinitely. I currently have 7 cars and trucks and they all did this. Take the pads out and bevel the leading and trailing edges on a grinder to a 45 degree angle. they will stop squeeling. Don't ask me why, but all 7 of mine stopped as soon as I did this. This was a trick a friend of mine who manages a local brake shop showed me, and he won't let any of his mechanics install brakes now without doing this!
