Idling problems
I have a 92 prelude with a H22 JDM and my Idle is jumping around 1000 to 2000 RPMs. My car starts for about 3-5 seconds then dies out, when I shift from 1st to 2nd it feels like I loose power(when I race)...........I dont know what it could be but they tell me it might be my timing. Anybody that can help me out, are badass people.

Re: Idling problems
Vacuum leak = the culprit 80% of the time. Try the faq.

Re: Idling problems
try unplugging your idle control valve when the motor is on and cold, then plug it back in...if it doesnt go back to normal idle...your idle valve is sticking--i had the same problem

Re: Idling problems
It could be the Fast Idle Thermo Valve...costs about 94 bucks at the Honda dealership.

also try a new pcv valve....(they're dirt cheap)
right on the back of a pcv valve packaging it says "symptoms of pcv valve failure" rough idling poor acceleration sludge formation poor starting poor gas mileage excessive oil consumption in your post your admitted to 3 of those symptoms! you can also test your current pcv valve by pinching the vacuum hose that goes to it, you should hear a clicking sound from the valve when your car is idling. i doubt it will solve all your probs but maybe a few! cheers |
