I didn't count the costs when I purchased the kit. I ordered it from japan (HLJ) and it cost approx 127€ (the kit was 70€, shipping 30 and taxes+customs fee 27€). It's funny how our customs calculate the shipping costs as part of the products price, BUT HEY, name one thing we Finnish people don't pay taxes, so whos counting AKA myincometax%is22!!

Not sure if you would find any 1:12 detail sets for £30 never mind with metal brake discs etc.

I think this will NOT be done as it seems that most would not acually buy the set.
Maybe just offer seperate parts rather than a boxed set.

My bad, I assumed you'd be casting them in resin, rather than making each set from metal...

Obviously, the whole package would be cheaper than each part separately?! One who buys the set has to choose each on their own wether to use the whole package or not, its still cheaper! That's my opinion.

Question

So Hiroboy, let us know where do we stand at this point? Do we get these parts or not?

Re: Show your Interest in a 1:12 Skyline Detail Kit

Hiroboy, why not offer them on a 'as needed' basis. Establish a price for each part, and people can order what they need. You can also offer combo prices. If things take off well, then start considering going a little bigger scope and making more professional looking box sets. For now, if I was you, not knowing how much demand there will be, and how much of a time drain on your own resources this will be, I would try it on a 1-off basis.

Although I do have one of the 1/12 Skyline kits I'd only say "YES" if it were a more universal detailing kit! Wheels are a huge problem in 1/12 scale and to have more options would be terrific and save me from machining a set. I do have access to a number of tires and I'm considering doing a few sets of Torque Thrust wheels in resin with machined rims and maybe some Fikse M5's. Brembo brakes (yours were great!) would be adaptable to any 1/12 kit, as would gauge sets, seats, steering wheels, turbos, etc... That would get my attention!
The market for a kit specific set, especially considering the small numbers of most any 1/12 kit out there would push me towards a more universal set, even at a limited run...
I've had a few one-off P/E sets made, they cost about $350.00 to do up front but then you have your "tooling" so it gets very cheap from there.
If it were a well done kit and offered alot of options I'd be willing to part with $175.00-200.00 for one. That's about what I've paid for Scale Motorsports super-detail kits in the past.

Re: Show your Interest in a 1:12 Skyline Detail Kit

I'd say if yo uare looking into making machined part sets Hiro, make machined parts instead. it'd broaden your field of buyers, people may want to buy some 1:12th turbos to put in the Revell 1:12th 1969 Camaro or brakes and a muffler on their 1:12 RX7.
