91 Grand Prix SE
What up everyone, I'm currently shopping for my first car. I'm thinking about getting a Grand Prix SE '91 for only a grand. I don't know much about it rather than it has 75k miles on it. I'm not a big car guy and want a car that'll do good. I don't have much money to buy a car or else I would've gotten a Sunfire
But could anyone give any suggestons on if it's a good deal or not? Tomorrow my pa and I are going to go look at it. Thanks

Re: 91 Grand Prix SE
Make sure you take it for a test drive. Since you don't have too many details about the car I can only tell you to look it over for engine and transmission for leaks, check the overall cleanliness of both the car and the engine compartment. Check the exhaust system to make sure it is in good condition. You can also tell a lot about a car by looking at the condition of the tires. If they are worn unevenly that could be an indication of suspension problems like ball joints and tie rods. Finally, when you take the car for a test drive, trust the seat of your pants. Vibrations are not good especially if they get worse as you speed up. Unusual noises are also bad. Brakes that don't work or are spongy are bad too. I don't want to discourage you from getting a car but there are others out there. Mileage is one thing but maintenance is another. If the car was well maintained then it will be quite apparent to you. Sometimes a car with shiny paint is appealing but it can be a mechanical tragedy. Some cars may not be pretty but if they were maintained they can last for years. Good Luck! GTP Dad
