2000 windstar, ABS light just came on today.
So my mom was driving back from work and she said the ABS was now on during her way back. So i've been assigned the job of researching what could be wrong. Wondering if anyone has had a problem like this, and where to start diagnosing. Could it just be a loose connection, cable, etc? Is it probably a problem with the system that will cost $$$ to fix?
Thanks |

Re: 2000 windstar, ABS light just came on today.
As Bobinski stated a very similar fault diagnosis is usually an easy fix by topping up the brake fluid resevoir under the drivers front air cowling. It's kind of hard to get at, and make certain you use the proper brake fluid as per the owners manual to top up and seal securely as it draws moisture from the air around it once iopened. If beyond that the sensors may have to be cleaned but checking previous threads and forum info in this ..It is a common occurence with the Windstar.. So don't let Mom panic! Wait for the other bigger headaches to come.. oops.. did I say that!?
