2001 Tahoe running and starting little rough

Hi. New to the forum and glad to see i have found some knowledgeable people. First of my 01 tahoe is having a hard time starting. I cannot just get in a turn the key over and it start right up the first time. i have to "prime" it by leaving the key on for a second and then fire it up.

Secondly when it is running it will stumple every so often at idle. It will also fluctuate the idle slightly when first started at times. What is the idle supposed to be at because according to my tach it is right at or just above 500 rpms at idle. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Damon

Take a close look at the fuel pressure regulator. pull off the vacum line and see if there is raw fuel there..if so replace the regulator.
The regulator will take care of most of your problem, but I would also clean the throttle body and blade. this will help with some low idle and stumble issues.
