3.3 97 Cooling Fan won't stop turning

please help!!!
i have a problem with my car. Driving on the road , temp going up slowly to the middle until the cooling fans start turning--->After it wont stop turning..now my car running always below normal temp. Same thing happen on the day. it cant be the computer sending signal always to the relay or module, thats why it wont stop running? pls help...thanks


History of the car: before it overheats coz the fan relay not working. i replaced it 5 months ago and also the temp sensor.

I am having the same problem and I also have a 97 Caravan with the 3.3L engine. Even in these colder November days the fans will come on when the van is only moderately warm. The fans will kick in and will stay on even if I'm driving at highway speeds. The temp. guage reads well below normal operating temps (almost at the "C"). I can park then van and turn off the engine, go inside for 15 minutes and then turn the van on again. The fans will immediately start up.

The other oddity is that when the fans are running, the transmissions takes on some different characteristics. It will not shift into 4th gear until 70KM/H and as soon as you drop below 70, it will down shift into 3rd gear. This only happens when the fans are running.

Any ideas on how the cooling fans can impact transmission performance? And what do you think is the cause of my cooling fan issue?

does it only stay on when your vehicle is running or does it also stay on when you turn your car off..

The rad fans would turn off when the engine is turned off but would turn on again immediately after the engine started again. Even though the temp. gauge was no where near hot. Not a problem now however, I bit the bullet and had the dealer look at it. $90 for a computer check, $60 labour, and $20 for a new thermostat later...I think the problem is now resolved. I'll have to take it out for a long drive to see for sure. However, they showed me the old thermostat and it was noticeably broken.

it only turns on when the car is running. usually the cooling fan should turn on when the comp send some signal to relay and OFF after it cools down a bit. Now, my cooling fan is turning on normally(the right time should be on) but, it wont stop running. Same thing happen for the next day. i replaced my relay already not long time ago..coz the relay stickin making the fans running all the time even if the ignition is OFF. then my problem of my cooling fan start after i send my car for trans. rebuild...i hope u guys can help me...THANKS...
