Well, for one reason or another, the rear brakes on the 96 windstar I was driving got sorta stuck or something, and it overheated... It started smoking (lots of it)... possibly some problem with some parking brake mechanism (which is rarely ever used)
Anyhow, I was just wondering if this smoke is very dangerous or not? I'v e heard brake dust (those made with asbestos) is highly dangerous... I'm not sure about smoke though... sorry for being a bit paranoid. |

Re: Brake smoke, dangerous for health?
You are probably okay as the asbestos levels in the brakes are now almost zero. In fact most new pads and shoes now contain no asbestos at all. They are ceramic and metalic. Good Luck.

Whats really fun is to take some rolling papers and rub it around in the brake dust and then roll a joint with it. Smoke it!!!!!!
