Unhappy More about recall on my 95'

I had my 95's fuel rail changed yesterday. I knew nothing about it though. I saw the mechanic put two stainless long tubes (about 5 ft) underneath the car. Also seemed there's a intergrated FPPR ahead of one of the tubes (about 6 in long and 4 inch in diameter) . The mechanic braided my new plug wires with plastic looming material. I guess those were the plug wires.

I scared me when I started it right outside. It exhausted huge smoke like I was driving a TANK. The mechanics were confused and said they didn't know anything about it and were not responsible for that. I had to drived it home and expected it cleared on highway. Lucky enough, it vanished after several minutes on highway. But I saw everybody behind me changed lane during that time. LOL.

I could tell you my 95' move smooth now. The change also solved the biggest problem of my car -- instable idling.

Is the recall for the '95's officially alive now. I haven't seen much about it.

Re: More about recall on my 95'

95s are too included. I would assume they didn't do them at first with the newer cars since they had to make that special fuel return line.

They started sending notices out at the start of September for 95s. You can go to www.nhtsa.gov and read all the assorted documentation about it.

I got mine done under the recall about an hour after one of the fuel lines split open and spewed gas all over creation. I still hadn't gotten the notice in the mail, but they had my VIN# as part of the recall.

I'd suggest doing it ASAP.

apparently only some of the '95s are included in the recall... mine "wasn't" included, however when the fuel rail began to leak I made a few calls and with some persuasion, GM decided to fix mine under the recall.
