Engine (transmission?) Mounts

I recently adopted a troubled and abused (automatic) 93 maxima (GXE I beleive).
This poor car has been to hell and back but i got a good price.

I've fixed a broken windsheild, bad alternator, and now I am at the engine mounts. I was told when i bought the car that it needed 'transmission mounts'..... It jerks to the right and knocks quite unatractively when it shifts gears. I know this is terrible for the car and I'm in quite a hurry to fix it, but I dont want to pay too much. I took it in for an estimate and they told me they would fix the two bad motor mounts for $75 but when they checked on the price they told me it would be about $350 total. I almost shit my pants when he suggested over a $100 per mount. The mounts that are shot are aligned in the center of the car, one in front and one in back. I've found parts online for less than half the price this man suggested, but i want to be sure I get the right parts.

Was the previous owner mistakenly refering to these mounts as transmission mounts, or could there be bad transmission mounts too? Does the description of my symptoms suggest mounts, or something more?
