My 1990 LeSabre has develpoed an oversteer proble that only happens sometimes. I've replaced the tie-rod ends and thes did not help. I'm kinda' at my wits end. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks

Re: 1990 LeSabre Steering Problem

There are a few more things that can be checked, ball joints, front struts, sidewalls of the tires for blemishes, tire pressure, anti sway bar mounts, upper strut mounts.

Good luck.

I've checked most of those things out. I'm thinking that it could be a valve in the rack and pinion.

Have you checked your power steering pump? Make sure the fluid level is correct, or even suck out the old fluid and replace it with new. Occasionally the valves will stick on old, thick fluid.

It sound like your rack tensioner may be too tight. Loosen the lock nut & loosen the plug cap 1/2 to flat. Don't forget to tighten the lock nut.

Sorry, that's one half to one full flat.
