Reprogramming a keyless entry keypad on door
I just purchased a used 1997 Ford Explorer and the dealership did not know the keypad code to unlock the door from the outside, can anybody tell me how I would go about doing this?

Re: Reprogramming a keyless entry keypad on door
The keypad code is on a label located in the rear driverside wheel well area. From the inside of the vehicle, remove the panel and look for a control module; you may need a flashlight & a mirror (I did). On the module there is a label with info on it; your code is four numbers in bold print. I don't beleive the code can be reprogramed, but i could be wrong.

the code suppose be a 5 digits number. If you still can't find it, you have to take it to a Ford dealership, they can tell you the code by using their equipment.
