98 Explorer - Open door Chime Alarm

When I open the driver door of my 98 Explorer the Alarrm Chime stays on even when I do not have the keys in the ignition or left the lights on. This can get rather annoying. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem or at least troubleshoot it?

Re: Re: 98 Explorer - Open door Chime Alarm

A buddy of mine told to check out the Ignition key position indicator pin. He thought it may be gummed up and recommended applying graphite to it. I tried it and did help for a while. My ignition key mechanism is real loose in the socket I may just have to replace it?
